A few days ago I treated myself to the newly released Apple IPad Air, after a few seconds of use I was highly impressed by the overall quality of the device everything has been thought of and developed to its finest. This afternoon I was taking some photos of the IPad for an article that I’m writing for http://www.djsonthe.net and thought why don’t I take this opportunity to take some test photos with the built-in camera… My test photos below aren’t that interesting but let me say that I was extremely impressed with the photo quality in both daylight and low-light environments.
*No filters, effects or adjustments were made to the enhance the photos*
It also performed extremely well in close-up shots. The image below shows the image taken from the IPad, the image in the top right corner shows the distance that the photo was taken.
It’s a subject that I don’t really touch on much, partially because i’m too focused on other things but mostly because it’s unrelated to a lot of the stuff that I do online.
Now i’m going to make a confession, in my spare time I do like to game, mostly on my Xbox 360 sometimes on online games. I’m not that much of a fan of gaming that I would pre-order a games console or wait up overnight just to be the first to buy a game but I do enjoy playing them.
Okay, I may play the games for the wrong reasons but I do enjoy playing them. May favourite game of all time has to be Lord of The Rings on Xbox 360, It’s the only game that I have felt compelled enough to complete or for that fact, complete more than once.
When I play games such as GTA (Grand Theft Auto) I don’t tend to complete the missions which is the main idea of the game, I tend to just drive around or walk around doing things that I shouldn’t… In my opinion the fun of the game is in not playing it. Having the platform and environment to ‘game’ and then doing what I want (so to speak) is the most enjoyable thing.
Do you enjoy computer games? What do you enjoy the most?
It’s been a while since the last post, but here is the latest. I hope that everything has been ok with you since I last wrote a blog post.
This post focuses on a recent trip I had to Cardiff, and Cardiff Bay to be more specific. For those of you who don’t know me that well, I am a MASSIVE Dr Who fan and because most of the tv episodes were shot there I thought it would be a good place to visit.
I highly recommend visiting Cardiff, the whole place is so clean and tidy and everyone is friendly. The bay is a really nice place to visit especially in the sunny weather!
In this videos description I have left some links to places you can visit whilst in Cardiff, a ‘Tourist Guide’ if you will.
If you enjoy the video please LIKE, SHARE and Re-Blog.
Until next time fellow Geeks/Tech enthusiasts,
Firstly, for those of you who are unsure about DJ technology such as applications/programs (some of you are just tech fans). The Traktor DJ App, is basically a compressed version of the main Traktor Pro software but is used on a touch screen device. It’s designed to enhance the experience for those who enjoy DJ technology but also touch screen experiences.
I did a video review of the Application, which by the way if you didn’t know, was recently available to download for FREE on the App Store. There is also a link here to the written article that looks at some of the reasons Native Instruments have released the app and who I think would benefit most from the app.

Many people ask me how to program DMX lighting effects and even what the hell DMX is ?! This video has been up a week now and already people have said that perhaps the video is more suited to a specific audience. The video concentrates on a specific lighting controller (Details Here) and is not a general ‘how-to’ video explaining how it would be done on other DMX controllers.
The idea of the video was to explain to ‘beginners’ or ‘novices’ what DMX is and what it is used for. I have had requests to make videos looking at specific lighting fixtures so will have those videos up online soon.
Any questions on DMX feel free to post them here or email me: firstname.lastname@example.org
Here are links to a DJSONTHENET article where the video was used, there is also a bit more information about DMX control itself, as well as a link to where you can purchase a similar controller. http://www.djsonthe.net/?p=830
